Me and my coursemates went to Fort Nepean for Architectural Design 2B site visit in July 2008 to visit some old defense buildings built in early 19th century for defense of the gateway entering to Victoria. The purpose was to understand the building structure and typology built in early years with simple ideology behind - to defense.

Another building by Herzog de Meuron in Basel with illusional facade. The copper façade combines modern aesthetics with functionality (protection of computer equipment against electromagnetic distortion). Photo was taken while it's raining.

The famous Weissenhofsielung in Stuttgart, Germany. Above is the first ever international style in the world designed by Le Corbusier.

Ballarat - very traditional timber structure architecture can still be see today in this well known gold mining town in 19th century for gold mining activities.

Taken during the visit to Munich in Jan 2009. Frei Otto had no doubt, successfully played with his idea of lightness in his building.
