A good place for hide and seek

To celebrate the new template of Where Modern meets Classic, i decided to post up a wide-angle photo taken of Malthouse Theatre. The theatre is famous of its existing brewery and malting structures that are still retain inside the building. But now the building houses three theatres (500-seat Merlyn, 200-seat Beckett and the 100-seat Tower Theatre), a vibrant cafe and bar.

Not any famous building this time. Just a pedestrian tunnel under a bridge in Melbourne. The interior atmosphere reminds me of those scenes we used to see in Hollywood films. Where a bad guy and a police meet up to exchange information. Was this what the architect trying to achieve while designing the space..? Wait..who's the architect by the way?

Found this amazing space in a bookshop along Elizabeth Street, Melbourne last Saturday. The building's ground and second floors have turned into a bookshop by the owner. The owner decided not to renovate the building, leave it where it is. I was quite surprised when i first saw this, never thought a reading area can be surrounded by a 'streetscape'. The abandoned/old-look-like walls with graffiti on it, give a feeling to the readers that they are reading 'at outside' of a building. Not bad! I really like it!
